How Can Healthy Eating Help Your Weight Loss?

Why eating healthily can help with weight loss.

Can healthy eating help with weight loss?

Most definitely!

In fact, eating healthily (at least most of the time) is probably the best as well as the easiest way that you can lose weight.

Rapid weight loss is bad news - you'll most likely lose either water (which you'll replace) or muscle (which is more difficult to replace).

Following a healthy eating plan for the majority of your week is the best all round option.

Let's start with breakfast. Don't be tempted to skip this meal - it's considered the most essential meal of the day. Make sure that you eat something that will keep your hunger at bay. This means cutting out the frosted cereals as these will give you an initial sugar rush but then leave you looking for a snack mid morning.

Lunch. Again, don't skip it. If you're choosing a sandwich then look for the lower calorie options. Nowadays they're almost as tasty as the regular versions (I know the manufacturers would claim they are as tasty, but let's get real here!). Follow up with a portion of fruit. Substitute water for the sugary cola drink. Or coffee or tea, but not too much milk (or go "skinny") and as little sugar as you can cope with.

Evening meal. Don't eat too late. Ideally, eat before about 8pm so that your stomach has time to digest the food before you go to sleep. Steer clear of cream laden sauces and go easy on the sugary desserts.

By sticking close to this simple plan, you'll be eating healthier and you'll start to lose some of those excess pounds.

Check out these healthy snack options to brighten up your day and collect your free weight loss newsletter while you're there.

How To Play Golf From Uneven Lies

Hitting the ball from uneven lies is one of the hardest things to do in golf and is one of the reasons why golf is so hard. Once you get out on the course, it is not flat like the driving range, and in order to shoot low scores and save as many strokes as possible you must know how to play form uneven lies.

Today i’m going to focus on teaching you how to play when the ball is below your feet as well as when it is above your feet. The good news is that these shots are not all that hard once you make the proper setup adjustments!

Playing when the ball is below your feet:

When the ball is below your feet you will feel as if you have to lean way over and really stretch to reach the ball. This is the major mistake that most golfers make when playing this shot, they bend too far forward from the waist to get down to the ball. This totally changes their body angles in the shot and causes mishits. Instead of bending more forward at the waist to get down to the ball, you need to bend your knees until your club reaches the ball. The angle that you bend forward should be exactly the same as that of a regular shot. So, when the ball is below your feet, bend those knees to get down to the ball.

Playing when the ball is above your feet:

When the ball is above your feet you need to flex your knees a whole lot less, and you want to have the feeling of standing nice and tall. In addition, because the ball is now higher up the distance between you and the ball is a lot shorter. So you will need to choke up on the club. making these 2 adjustments will put you in a good position to make your regular swing, although it will end up being a little flatter because the ball is up higher.

One thing to keep in mind when playing these shots is that you will tend to miss in a certain direction for each type of shot. When the ball is below your feet the tendency is the miss a little bit to the right. And likewise when the ball is above your feet you will tend to miss to the left, so aim accordingly!

So, there you can see that playing from uneven lies is not that hard once you know how, so get out there and start practicing!

Birds - How To Tell If Yours Is Sick

In this article we're going to discuss how to tell if you've got a sick bird on your hands.

Unlike people, birds can't tell you when something hurts or they just feel like garbage. So how do you tell when your bird is under the weather?

Most sick birds get that way because of poor nutrition and stress. Poor nutrition is more from what a bird eats than from how much, as birds don't need a lot of food. Stress can come from a number of things such as poor environment and rapid changes in temperature. A happy bird is usually a healthy bird.

A problem with identifying if your bird is sick is that birds tend to hide their health from you. This is a built in ability that birds use to keep other animals from attacking them. It is part of their survival instinct. Because of this ability it may be a couple of weeks before a bird owner even knows that his bird is sick. Therefore, in order to determine that there is a problem with your bird you have to be observant at all times. There are signs to look out for. These include discharge from the eyes, change in eye color, closing of the eyes, swelling around the eyes, discharge from the nose, soiling of the feathers, sneezing, trouble eating, reduced appetite, fluffed up feathers, inactivity, droopy wings, change in routine, change in vocal habits, weight loss, problems with equilibrium, inability to perch, limping, swollen feet or joints, change in droppings, open mouthed breathing when at rest, lumps on the body, and any sign of bleeding. Some of these symptoms are very serious.

If you notice any of the above and suspect your bird is sick, immediately make an appointment with a vet. Take him there in his cage or some suitable container. Don't ever take your bird to the vet with him perched on your shoulder. Your pet will not be protected. Whatever container you use make sure it is covered. If you take it in its cage don't clean the cage. This can present evidence to the vet that can help diagnose the bird's problem.

After taking the bird to the vet and a diagnosis is made, take the bird home immediately. Home care at this stage is very important. Keep your bird warm and try to encourage it to eat. Sick birds have usually stopped eating so it is important for them to eat well to get their strength back. If they are unable to eat then they may need to be hospitalized.

Unfortunately, by the time an owner realizes his bird is sick, the bird is more than likely seriously ill. Therefore it becomes even more critical to give your bird the best care possible. Most owners go to pet stores first to try to treat the bird instead of going straight to the vet. This only makes the problem worse. However, if you catch the bird's illness quickly enough you'll have a very good chance of getting him back on his feet.
